Thanks Laura. I note your liking for Magic 1128 (which is like our 4BH 882), so you will understand it when I say that I think of academe as being a little like the Hotel California - you can check out any time you like, etc.

Cavell’s always helpful, not least as a balm at the end of a stressful day, but perhaps the themes of Cities of Words will be of most immediate relevance.
